'Edith Somerville's Studio, Drishane House' Oil on board 14" x 11"
This was painted in September after a visit to Drishane House and gardens in Castletownshend and of course a visit to the studio. Edith Somerville was most famous for writing ' Experiences of an Irish R.M.' and 'The Real Charlotte' with her cousin Violet Martin under the names 'Somerville and Ross'. Both books were televised. Edith was also an accomplished artist and Master of the West Carbery Hounds. Drishane House and Gardens are open to the public for select days in the summer as part of the West Cork Garden trail.
