The Channel, Rosscarbery is an oil painting of just that! The Warren in Rosscarbery is a hugely popular beach but once September comes it returns to a peaceful place where locals walk the looped path around the dunes and across the beach. This particular scene is looking across the channel from the cul de sac to the coast guards house in September when the trees are beginning to fade but the water still retains the blue of summer.

Heir Island Cottage is a scene I have painted previously in watercolour and I though it was about time I painted it in oils. It is probably one of the most Iconic views on the Island, which lies a short distance from the mainland beyond Skibbereen and can be reached by boat from Cunnamore pier. I visit the Island to go sketching every summer, the population of the Island swells considerably in the summer months and many people come over for the day in boats or via the ferry to take advantage of the beautiful beaches and stunning scenery. This view is from the far side of the of the island looking towards Skeam East an uninhabited Island with a group of trees and prominent ruin which break the skyline and was taken from sketched and photographs I took in late summer.

Sea Pinks and still water is an oil painting of a regular walk I take at the Warren Strand in Rosscarbery, West Cork. This was early morning when the water was perfectly still and reflecting the stunning blue late spring sky. The sea pinks or sea thrift was in full bloom all the way along the cul de sac that leads to the beach. The stone wall cast a deep blue shadow it was won of those wow moments that needed to be painted!

Inchydoney is an painting of the well known beach near Clonakilty. This was painted after an early morning visit at the start of the summer before the schools had broken up, there were only three people on the beach and the sun was sparkling on the sea in the distance

Long Strand, on a stormy day is the full title of this painting, the image was taken by Nigel Connell Bass who kindly gave me permission to use it to create this painting. I have painted it a couple of times as it is a popular place for walkers and surfers near the town of Rosscarbery
